The heart of our Full Spectrum Consulting services is our strong foundation in engineering and technology. The range of our expertise in this area is very broad in its own right, and FCS can tackle a wide variety of projects. We review existing facilities, equipment, materials, and processes and recommend or engineer changes. We'll help you find and evaluate equipment vendors and their products, and help you develop well-integrated facilities. We can provide technical training for your staff.
Perhaps a few examples will demonstrate the range of projects we have undertaken.
We completed a major effort to assist a client in evaluating the technical and market merit of an incredible array of materials-related technologies developed in Ukraine for the USSR military. After the break-up of the USSR, these technologies became available to the West. We evaluated titanium composite materials for engine applications, and successfully assisted our client in obtaining U.S. patents. We helped in the evaluation of coatings for cutting tools, woven basalt cloth, armor materials, brake-lining materials, cut-proof woven cloth, ultra-hard materials, and others. FCS was involved in both technical and market evaluation.
We designed, equipped, staffed, and supervised the operation of a laboratory for the development of foamed glass materials. This included design and construction of a unique kiln (see Kiln Specialists), a large laboratory spray dryer, and a small automated press for pellets. In addition to the engineering and technology portion of our services, we were also involved in the market evaluation and testing of a variety of products produced in the lab.
We assisted in the design of several refractory fiber vacuum-forming facilities for clients and continue to offer technical (and marketing) consulting services in this area.
We have become involved in kiln and furnace building and rebuilding activities in Mexico, in addition to our activities in the U.S.
Even when we try to talk strictly about our Engineering and Technology capabilities, the Full Spectrum Consulting concept keeps popping up. That's becuase it is all integrated together. When you get down to it, in most cases you cannot, and should not, isolate the engineering and technical aspects from all the other business aspects. Allow us to say that we have very strong engineering and technical skills, made even stronger by the ability to call on our Associates.
